Lake Erie Fishing

We had a trip set for the last day in May but with some conflicting weather reports my group requested that they could reschedule the day.  I advised them that the weather looked great for a day of casting for Walleyes, but with some of the group not being very good in choppy water they stuck with the request to change the date.  As usual the weather had changed once again and the morning proved to be a wonderful day on the water.  Since I had an opening in the schedule we decided to go out and have some fun casting.  The strong South West wind gave us a great drift wind Lake Erie gave up some quick limits for me and two friends.  In just a couple hours we were headed in with 18 fish and were home in time for a late breakfast.  We were casting gold weapons tipped with night crawlers and catching fish on just about every cast.  It’s important to take from this that you should always put your trust in the Captain and know that he will provide you with a safe and honest answer when you are concerned about the fishing and the weather.  Lake Erie changes her mind very quickly for better or worse but a good Captain will know when to make the smart choice of when to cancel.
