Lakeside Marblehead Casting Charter

The guys who booked today were looking for a Lakeside Marblehead Walleye Casting Charter last year and went with a Captain I recommended due to my daughter arriving about the same time they wanted to fish.  They decided to schedule another trip this year and they were able to fit a day in that worked for everyone including me.

The group

The group was a dad, his two sons and their friend whom I have known for a longtime.  We started out casting very close to Lakeside Marblehead.  The first few casts produced some monster sheephead.  Adjusting our drift a short distance created a frenzy of catching walleye.  We managed 2 limits on that adjustment and with only 18 more fish needed for a full boat limit we recreated that drift line once again.

Limits

The 5 man limit was done by 930 am by casting gold harnesses and bottom bouncers.  It only took 2 drifts to fill the cooler with our limit of Lake Erie Walleye.  The guys wanted to spend some time together and couldn’t believe how great the fishing was.  With being done so quickly they asked if they could continue catching walleye.  So for a few more hours  we just released them back into Erie.  While some of you know and for those that don’t I always give the option to fish the full 8 hrs.

I put my fishing rod away and watched the guys pull walleye into the boat at a breakneck pace only to return another 5 limits of fish back into Erie and all by lunch time.  I experienced one of the best days of the season.  Casting is always a treat they decided they had caught enough for the day. We made our way back from the Lakeside Marblehead Walleye Casting Charter to Channel Grove.  It’s no wonder they call Lake Erie the Walleye Capital of the World.
